3 Tips To Boost Your Confidence

Confidence comes from within. It radiates out of us when we truly learn to love and accept ourselves and realise that we are enough, exactly as we are. Sometimes we find ourselves in unfamiliar situations or feel out of our depths and notice that our confidence spark has begun to fizzle.

If you've struggled with self confidence or are looking to for a little confidence boost when faced with a challenging situation, then try the following three suggestions:


1. Strike the Matilda Pose
Stand up straight with your feet hip distance apart and place your hands on your hips. Hold your head up high and take some deep breaths. Feel the powerful effects of this pose as it flows through your body and notice how the postures you take on each day can influence so strongly how you feel.


2. Give yourself a pep talk
Stand in front of a mirror and look yourself in the eyes. What words of encouragement can you give yourself? Tell yourself how amazing you are and that you’ve got this, because you do! I also like to write the words, 'I am enough' on all of my mirrors to act as a constant reminder to believe in myself. Remember, the words you tell yourself have a powerful impact on how you feel and the behaviours that follow, so choose kind and encouraging thoughts, always. 


3. Visualise it
Find a quiet place to sit down and close your eyes. Let the situation you are nervous about come to mind on a big screen, as if you were watching your life play out as a movie. Then, slide the image off to the left and bring into screen your best case scenario. Picture yourself succeeding, laughing, standing tall, conquering the situation! Get specific with the details of this image as if you were there experiencing it yourself. Notice how you feel and lean in to these emotions. Then, when you’re ready, open your eyes and take that newfound confidence with you!

Most importantly, remember that you are absolutely amazing and always enough.
